Big racing update - Niner, XTERRA, Teva   Date: Wednesday 10 June, 2009
Full Story:
Going back a little way to the Dirt, Sweat and Gears race that nearly wasn't, we had lots of good results despite the conditions. Jeremiah Bishop took the geared win with a ZTR 355 650b front wheel mated to a ZTR Race 7000 rear wheel. Harlan Price followed Bishop to the oh so muddy finish line on his ZTR 29er rims of various types mated to some Industry Nine hubs & spokes. In the single speed category, Fuzzy John Mylne ran (and sometimes walked) his Race 29er wheels to the victory. Lots of video and other coverage of the event on Cycling Dirt

Niner Update
The Niner team sent over a report on their recent racing adventures in Italy and at the Mohican 100. The team dominated the 24 Hours of Finale then made it back to the States in time for Fuzzy John to win the single speed class at the Mohican with Dejay Birtch coming in second. Rebecca Tomaszewski won the solo female category in Italy by 3 laps.

Mohican 100
Jeremiah Bishop of Monavie-Cannondale won the Mohican 100 geared category again running his NoTubes built ZTR wheels. His teammates Tinker Juarez, Bart Gillespie and Alex Grant were 6th, 7th and 10th respectively running their ZTR Race 7000 wheels. Mike Simonson (Fisher 29er Crew) rode to an excellent 4th place finish on ZTR Race 29er wheels and Harlan Price finished 9th on his ZTR Race 29er rims on I9 spokes and hubs. Count 'em up folks, that's 6 out of the top 10 and the top 2 SS at one of the premier 100 milers on ZTR wheels!

Teva Mountain Games
Last weekends Teva Mountain Games saw Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski winning for the men and Katie Compton for the women. JHK and his fellow Fisher/Subaru teammates all rely on our sealant to help them to the podium. Katie was running Race 29er rims and sealant as well.

XTERRA
One of our XTERRA athletes, Seth Wealing, sent in his report from the Northwest event where he took 3rd using ZTR Race 7000 wheels for the bike portion of the event.

Here is Seth's account of the race:
"Farrugut State Park (near Coeur d'Alene),

On a perfect cool Pacific Northwest day, conditions were perfect for good fast racing. After several course changes (for the better), the end result was my first podium of the year in XTERRA taking 3rd.

The wind had picked up, so the swim in 62 degree water was quite choppy, but I held my usual pace and came out of the water first. The steep run up the hill to the transition to the bike was really tough with several sets of stairs. There was a group of 5 riders coming out of transition together and onto the bike course. The bike course was made longer, but the course was very fast. It was incredibly had because there were no rest spots the entire way. It was like a hour and a half short track race! I managed my pace very well and moved into 2nd place for the majority of the bike. Coming off the bike in 4th, I was able to run my race without pushing too hard. The run felt really smooth and I felt like my season is really going well. With 2nd place running super fast, and 4th place far back, I settled in to take 3rd overall moving myself up into 8th place in the series (dropped races have not been factored in yet)."
