Features:
- Light weight, only 58g
- Can be used in muddy conditions (pads will wear faster)
- Designed to be used with semi-metallic, organic, or resin pads only
- Increased modulation for more controlled braking and less brake grab
Recommended Pads:
- Stock Magura Marta Pads
- Kool Stop Aftermarket Pads
- Do not use sintered or metallic pads!
Rotor Installation:
Remove your wheel, loosen rotor bolts and remove your current rotor. Place Stan's Aluminum Rotor on the hub, arrow side up. Insert 6 bolts. While twisting the rotor in the opposite direction of the arrow, tighten the 6 bolts to secure the rotor.
Brake Adjustment:
With your rotor installed, re-install your wheel and adjust your brakes by centering your caliper on the rotor.
Break-in / First ride / Riding:
No hard braking until rotor is properly broken-in after the first ride!
Break-in: Use little pressure on the first few stops, gradually increasing your pressure. The rotor is a little rough and this will smooth out after a few stops. First Ride: after the short break-in period, take an easy 30-60 minute ride. The rotor is designed to pick up some of the pad material and deposit it in the small pockets of the rotor. After some use, the rotor may become darker on the braking surface. This is normal and power will increase with most pads. After you ride, check your pads for wear.
* If riding in muddy conditions check pads more often, they will wear faster.
Truing the rotor:
We recommend using a dial indicator for truing; however, brake calipers will suffice. Remove one brake pad and the sound will indicate where the rotor is bent. Use your fingers to straighten and do not use any tools! Focus the straightening where the rotor legs meet the braking surface. Keep in mind that a bent rotor can be deceiving. If you are having trouble straightening in the right direction, try straightening off the opposite side by using the opposite brake pad.
