Six Holiday Gift Ideas For Cyclists

Looking for great holiday gifts for the cyclists in your life? We polled our staff here at Stan’s and put together this list of some of our favorite items that your cycling friends and family are sure to love, too. Whether you’re shopping for stocking stuffers or something more, we’ve got you covered.

Rothrock Coffee

Whether getting ready to head into the office or out onto the trail, there’s no better way to kick off cold, winter mornings than with a cup of hot coffee from Rothrock Coffee, a specialty coffee roaster located near our State College, Pennsylvania office. Their delicious signature blends are among our favorites: the rich and inviting Bear Meadows, the crowd pleasing Singlespeed and the fruitful and refreshing Thickhead are all excellent choices. And don’t worry if you can’t decide which blend to give, we recommend the Adventure Variety Box for the chance to sample all three.

Cost: From $15-$20

Stan’s DART Tool

Our Dual Action Repair for Tubeless (DART) is one of those gifts that will keep on giving year-round. It fixes damaged tires faster, easier and better than traditional plug tools, making it ideal for road or trail-side repairs. It’s light and durable and fits easily into pockets and packs, and as an added bonus, it comes with a built-in valve core remover, making it quick and easy to add sealant whenever a refresh is needed.

Cost: $25

Nittany Mountain Works Deluxe Hip Sack

Our friends at Nittany Mountain Works in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania make one of our favorite hip packs. Hand sewn out of 1000D Cordura Nylon, the Hip Sack is perfectly sized for a day on trails or in the city, and it easily converts into an over-the-shoulder sling pack. One large front pocket gives quick access to often-used items, elastic keeper loops keep the pack streamlined when in use, and blinky lights are easily attached. And best of all, you get to customize all of the colors of the main panel, pocket, daisy chain webbing, bar tack and zipper.

Cost: $56.00

Stan’s Alloy Valves

So many little things add up to make our bikes special. That’s why we recommend our lightweight aluminum valve stems. In addition to being only half the weight of our standard brass valve stems, they come in five colors—black, red, blue, green and orange—so you can perfectly complement any bike color scheme. Our alloy valves are sold in pairs and are available in a variety of lengths from 35mm to 100mm. Their secure round base is compatible with most tubeless rims and a perfect fit for all Stan’s BST and BST-R rims. A removable valve core makes it easy to add sealant.

Cost: $23-$40 (varies by length)

PNW Components Rainier Gen 3 Dropper Post

We can’t say enough about the performance and reliability of PNW Components’ Rainier series of dropper posts. Their tool-less travel adjust system maximizes the amount of drop for every body and bike model. It’s super easy to dial in these seatposts, which allow for a total of 30mm travel reduction in 5mm increments. And you can count on them working in cold weather while also being straightforward to service. The Rainier Gen 3 dropper fits three seatpost sizes (30.9, 31.6, and 34.9mm) and is available in four lengths (125, 150, 170 and 200mm).

Cost: $179.00

Stan’s Sealant

You can’t beat Stan’s tire sealant when it comes to tubeless conversion and flat prevention. Classic sealant seals punctures up to 1/4” quickly, and it remains liquid for two to seven months for long lasting protection. Its low-viscosity formula has been engineered to work year-round, including all winter in freezing environments as cold as -20°F. Made of natural materials, our sealant is safe for the environment and easily injected through valve stems with removable cores whether you’re initially setting up tubeless tires or refreshing their sealant.

Cost: $17.00 for one pint (other sizes available)
